The first Antiques & Collectors Fair at Castle Hill, organised by Unique Auctions and LincolnBIG on Sunday 4th August was an amazing success. Crowds thronged through Castle Hill all day, and were wowed by the Antiques, Collectables, Vintage and Retro items available from the 30 or so stalls.
Items ranged from Antique Furniture to Shabby Chic, from Victoriana to Antiquarian Books, from Victorian Oil Paintings to Modern Art, and from Fine Silver & Gold to Costume Jewellery. There was brisk trading on the stalls all day.
BBC Lincolnshire visited with their popular Pirate Gold treasure trail programme, with the third clue hidden on the stall for the Charity Auction, which was to be held later in the day. Items were donated the stall holders for the auction which was raising money for St Barnabas Hospice. The crowd dug deep and the event raised over £200 for just 38 items.
Feedback from everyone was very positive and plans are underway to make the Antiques & Collectors Market a regular fixture in the Lincoln calendar. Many of the surrounding businesses also commented on how busy they were. Widow Cullens Well reported their busiest Sunday for a long time and had to call in more staff.
