Unique Auctions are delighted to present to auction on 26th and 27th April, items from the collection and estate of plawright and journalist Avis Caminez and antique dealer Godfrey Sims.
Avis Caminez wrote the comedy drama The Other Side of the Room a comedy drama set in a 6 month period around Earls Court, London in the mid-60s. The play also included references to the life of another playwright Jo Orton. Avis also wrote for many publications including The Tatler. He lived and worked in Hollywood for a number of years and during that time he worked as an agent for Gloria Swanson, and during his life in Hollywood was involved in costume design. Godfrey Sims was originally a shirt maker in South Kensington and later became and antique dealer. On attending the maiden voyage of the QE2 he most famously danced and advised Ginger Rogers.
The collection includes Pottery, Porcelain, Furniture, Paintings, Taxidermy, Militaria, Silver, Brassware, Copperware, Ivory etc.

The Saturday & Sunday 26th and 27th April Antiques, Art & Collectors Sale starts at 9am each day. Viewing of items is from 8am on Friday 25th April and the morning of the sale. The sale will also be available online.
