An interesting Lincoln focused collection of Postal History Ephemera and Stamps will be of interest to local stamp collectors and Lincoln local historians. The album includes a history of the Post Office in Lincoln, with letters dating from 1741. Other letters are dated 1772, 1774, 1804, 1811, 1813 etc. Stamps include three very good Penny Blacks, a collection of Two Pence Blues, many letters with Penny Reds, Penny Lilacs etc.
Nearly all the stamps are postmarked Lincoln, and include a description of the various Post Marks that were used in Lincoln. Letters include those to the Lord Bishop of Lincoln. This is a very unique collection of stamps and ephemera and viewing is highly recommended.
